Welcome. You are applying to take the IBEW Local 26 Change of Classification Test. This placement test is used to determine eligibility and appropriate placement in the 2027–2028 three-year Upgrade Program.
If your application is approved, your test score will determine whether you qualify for immediate reclassification as a Journeyman Wireman or placement in the first, second, or third year of the Upgrade Program.

Qualifies for placement in the third year of the Upgrade Program. |

Qualifies for placement in the second year of the Upgrade Program. |

Qualifies for placement in the first year of the Upgrade Program. |
| Below 60% |
Does not qualify for placement based on the test score. The applicant may enroll in the first year of the Upgrade Program or become eligible to retake the placement test after six months. |
Residential Electrical Applicants
An applicant currently classified as Residential Electrical who scores 60% or higher will be reclassified as a Residential Wireman and placed in the appropriate year of the Upgrade Program based on the score ranges listed above.
Important Enrollment and Retesting Policy
An applicant who scores between 60% and 89% but elects not to enroll in the year of the Upgrade Program for which they qualify will not be eligible to retake the placement test until the class corresponding to that placement has graduated.

Submission of an application does not guarantee approval to test, reclassification, or placement in the Upgrade Program. All applications are subject to review and approval by the IBEW Local 26 Examining Board.
